Monsignor Anthony Daniel Marchitelli of Carmel, New York, 1950 - 2022.

St. James the Apostle's Monsignor Anthony Daniel Marchitelli entered eternal life on Friday, October 28, 2022 at the age of 72.

Monsignor Marchitelli was born on June 22, 1950 at Mother Cabrini Memorial Hospital in New York City to the late Frank and Antoinette (DelVecchio) Marchitelli. Msgr Marchitelli knew at an early age that he wanted to serve the Lord and, after attending Cardinal Hayes High School, Bronx NY he went to Immaculate Conception College Seminary, and then St. Joseph's Seminary and was ordained a Roman Catholic Priest on December 11, 1976.

Monsignor Marchitelli served the Catholic Church and the Archdiocese of New York for more than 46 years. His assignments included the, St. Augustine's in Highland, NY; St. Joseph by the Sea High School in Staten Island; Kennedy Catholic High School in Somers, NY; Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains, NY; Our Lady of the Assumption, Bronx, NY; and St. James the Apostle & Our Lady of the Lake/Mt. Carmel Parish in Carmel, NY.

Monsignor Marchitelli was at St. James the Apostle Church in Carmel, NY when he passed. Monsignor was well respected and beloved by his parishioners and fellow priests.

He began working with the Boy Scouts in 1960 and remained an active member for many years.

He was also a long time member of the Knights of Columbus Council #6318, Our Lady of the Lakes in Carmel.

Two beloved siblings, Roseanne Kelly and Frank Marchitelli, survive Monsignor Marchitelli.
All arrangements to Celebrate Monsignor Anthony D. Marchitelli, will take place at St. James the Apostle Church, 14 Gleneida Avenue, Carmel, NY.

Lying in Repose from 2:00 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at St. James the Apostle Church will be followed by a Parish Requiem Mass celebrated by Reverend Gerardo J. Colacicco with the homily by Reverend Father Peter McGeory at 7:00 P.M. to honor Monsignor Marchitelli's life.

Lying in Repose before the Mass of Christian Rite will on Friday, November 4, 2022 beginning at 8:00 A.M. and will be followed at 10:00 A.M. by the Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by His Eminence, Timothy Cardinal Dolan with the homily by Reverend Father Anthony D. Sorgie at St. James the Apostle Church, Carmel, NY.

A private cremation will follow the Mass. In the near future, Monsignor Marchitelli will be Entombed in a niche at St. Sebastian Columbarium, Our Lady of the Lakes/ Mt Carmel R/C, Church in Lake Carmel, NY.
