Bisa Butler, whose stunning work will be on exhibit at the KMA beginning March 15, 2020, was just featured in the latest issue of O, The Oprah Magazine in the "Living Your Best Life" section. Her quilt, Four Little Girls, dedicated to the 4 little girls who were killed on September 15, 1963 in a Birmingham church, was featured along with a detail of Three Kings, a work that depicts three teenage boys posing for the camera, their confidence evident in their high fashion attire.
This will be the first solo museum exhibition of her current work and will feature approximately 25 of her vivid and larger-than-life quilts that capture African American identity and culture.
