Westchester County Police Hosting Cops & Cones in Mount Kisco

Westchester County Police are once again hosting a fun-filled Cops & Cones event in the heart of Mount Kisco’s downtown.

This year’s event will be held Thursday, Aug. 26 from 5 to 9 p.m. in the South Moger municipal parking lot. Free ice cream, food, music, raffles and inflatable amusements will be available, and a variety of Westchester County Police equipment, including the department’s helicopter, motorcycles and specialized vehicles, will be on display.

“The Westchester County Police were unable to host Cops & Cones a year ago because of the Covid-19 pandemic. It is great news that this event can be held this year,” County Executive George Latimer said. “This is one of the vital ways that County Police officers can connect with the people of Mount Kisco and strengthen their relationship with the entire community.”

Public Safety Commissioner Thomas A. Gleason said, “We are thrilled to be able to hold Cops & Cones again. We invite the community to come out to meet our officers and have some fun at the same time. Our Department is privileged to provide police services to Mount Kisco, and hosting Cops & Cones is one way we can give back to the community.”

Mayor Gina Picinich, said, “Building and strengthening connections between residents and police is the heart of effective community policing. We value our partnership with the Westchester County Police and appreciate their facilitating Cops and Cones, which provides a fun environment to further these important relationships.”

Gleason thanked Mayor Picinich, the Board of Trustees, the village manager’s office and the Mount Kisco Highway Department for their assistance in planning and holding the event.

Gleason said the event was possible due to the generosity of multiple sponsors, including the Westchester County Police PBA, Diamond Properties, Mount Kisco Chevrolet, American Latino Deli Cafe, Cassidy Flynn Funeral Home, Drunken Chef, Grand Prix New York Racing & Entertainment, Rivera Toyota, Westchester County Sheriffs Association, Pinnacle Taxx, Inc., JAGG Builders, Mount Kisco Seafood, Chris Lyn Soccer Academy, Mount Kisco Chamber of Commerce, Stop & Shop, Staples, Mimi’s Coffee House, Basilico Pizza Pasta & Gourmet, Hudson Valley Biker Network, Mount Kisco Gold and Silver, Reining Cats & Dogs of Westchester, O’Connor’s Public House, Mount Kisco Fire Department, Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Mario’s Pizza and Pasta, Locali Mount Kisco, Rockin’ Jump, American Gas, Mount Kisco Farms, Ecology Tree Service, Mardino’s Restaurant, Edible Arrangements and Hacienda La Paloma and Village Social.
