Hilltop Hanover Farms Great for Back-to-School Trips

"At Hilltop Hanover Farm, we believe in simple things. The taste of a sun-warmed tomato, the feel of a cow's shaggy coat, the sound of clucking, happy hens (and roosters!) and the quiet mystery of sprouting seeds. On a farm, there are learning opportunities everywhere!" Director of Education, Carol Lake.

We are delighted to announce the roll-out of the new youth curriculum that Carol has created – programs that will inspire, engage and educate. We look forward to welcoming your children, their classmates and scout troops to the Farm.

Field Trips to the Farm
Come visit our 5 acre crop farm, greenhouses, pastured laying hens, bee hives, grass-fed dairy cows, herb gardens, green roofs, rainwater harvesting areas, compost facility and "Butterfly Way Station" display garden. Field trips to Hilltop Hanover Farm are designed to offer students hands-on experiences in regenerative farming and ecology. We provide young people with a living, outdoor classroom - our working, sustainably managed farm - and an exciting real world opportunity to learn about local and organic agriculture, life sciences, sustainability, and nutrition.

In-School Visits
Hilltop Hanover Farm's In-School Visits dovetail with the USDA's program "Know Your Farmer, Know Your Food" that demonstrates the connection between food, agriculture, community, and the environment. Our unique traveling agricultural science and local food systems lessons encourage students to think critically about healthy eating, their food supply, and their local ecology and helps them see the bigger picture of how their food gets from seed to table. Activities can range from live animal demonstrations with hands on activities to interactive exploration of food miles and foodsheds.
