Sad news for Westchester commuters (and book lovers) who travel through Grand Central Terminal: Posman Books will be closing its location in the station.
According to a message on the indie bookshop’s website, as a result of renovations in the station, “Grand Central has determined that they will need our space/location for plans to upgrade and improve pedestrian circulation in and around Grand Central.”
The last day of operation will be Dec. 31, though the message adds that the store is “actively working with Grand Central to find a new location.” Posman has been in Grand Central for 15 years.
A petition to renew the lease is collecting signatures, and a minimum of 1,000 are needed. As of this writing, it has 788. You can find the petition here.
