Automobile Empowerment at the Somers Library

Automobile Empowerment at the Somers Library
Saturday, August 24, 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Would you like to learn more about your car and how to take better care of it? Here's your chance! In this hands-on class, car repairman and mechanic Jason Dickman wants to help people be more prepared, safe and familiar with their cars. To do this, he will
  • Discuss each person's interest in their car and what they hope to get out of the class
  • Give helpful car care guidelines and tips with time for Q & A
  • List useful car products
  • Show how to find and check for fuses
  • Show how to change a tire using a spare and the tools necessary to do it
  • Give a touch-up paint demonstration

The class will start out in the Program Room, then move outside to a driveway next to the library where Jason will demonstrate these points on a demo car parked there. Space is limited to 10 persons and registration is required. Please register on our online calendar or call 914-232-5717.

Jason Dickman has worked in the automotive industry for over 25 years in various aspects of automobile restoration, dealership and as a private car collection mechanic. He is currently an adjunct professor at Westchester Community College for two automobile related classes. A new resident to Somers, Jason would like to give back to the community, and hopes this class will be a start.
