Somers Boy Scout Troop #376 Replaced Flags at Ivandell Cemetery

Somers Troop 376 has kept alive the tradition of replacing flags at the Todd Cemetery, Ivandell Cemetery and St. Joseph's Cemetery this week.

The event had been organized by the Somers VFW Post 8213 in the past, but with the VFW post disbanding last June, Troop 376 decided to take over this important tradition.

Since the whole troop could not participate all at once, the boys and their parents signed up individual time slots to perform the work.

*Editor's Note: VFW Post 8213  launched in 1994 was officially disbanded on Wednesday, June 5, 2019. Its charter was turned over to the Department of New York VFW at that time .The military service organization had been battling dwindling enrollment for a number of years prior to disbanding.
