How to Choose a College: Making college choices during COVID.  Wednesday December 2, 7:00-8:00 pm. In this webinar, you will learn how to create a quality college list when you can't visit and get to know any of the students on campus. We'll answer questions like: Are there tools that can help? Where do I start? How many colleges should I consider? We will go over a toolset that will personalize a decision criteria system for each student. Additionally, once accepted, find out how to choose the right college for you during this pandemic. Join us for this can't-miss event!


Virtual - Teen Kahoot! Trivia More Dates! - Thursdays, 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Meeting dates: 12/3, 12/17, 1/7 & 1/21/21. Join us for a virtual quiz challenge for teens in grades 7 and up using Kahoot, an online app. Teens will compete for small prizes in a variety of trivia categories. All teens must compete as individuals.  Space is limited to 20 participants. Instagram: Follow us @somers_library_teens to find out about new classes, programs, volunteer and service opportunities for teens.


Virtual: Teen Chill Out Crafts. Fridays, 12/4, 12/18, 1/8, & 1/22/21, 4:30 - 5:30 pm. Need to bust the winter blues? Need time to relax and make something crafty? Then join us via Zoom for Teen Chill Out Crafts! We will make: 

  • Light bulb Snowman
  • Needle-Felted Gnome 
  • Recycled Greeting Card Ornamental Ball
  • Glittery Butterfly. 

Space is limited to 10 participants. Please sign up on our online events calendar.  You will receive an invitation prior to the start of the webinar. Important: the library will supply most of the supplies for these crafts. Please call or email the library to make a curbside pickup appointment to get your supplies!
