Somers Library: Soup's On! Library Fun At Home

Soups On!

As the days get cooler, there’s nothing better than a bowl of homemade soup- It’s a great way to stir up some delicious family fun. Start with a recipe, some creativity, a good stock and lots of vegetables, meat or even leftovers, to create the perfect meal in a bowl.

Making a soup together builds so many skills - reading and measuring ,chopping, crushing and stirring. Young sous chefs will enjoy creating their own recipes!

Vegetable Soup Memory Game

• Have everyone sit in a circle.

• Begin the game by saying, “We're making Vegetable soup today and we're adding... (name a vegetable.)

• Take turns adding to the pot by saying exactly what was said before, adding one more vegetable and continue as many times as you can.

Get stirring with some of these books about soups and cooking available now at the Somers Library.
