Somers to consider banning Marijuana Sales

With Governor Cuomo seeking to legalize the recreational use of marijuana in NY State, the Town of Somers is exploring banning the sale of the drug.

Supervisor Rick Morrissey said that he and Police Chief Michael Driscoll oppose the legalization, theexaminernews.com said, adding that he believes “It’s a gateway drug”. Somers would not be alone in prohibiting the sale of marijuana in Westchester. Pleasantville is also considering doing the same as are several other communities across the state.

The Somers town board meets at the Somers Town House at 7 p.m. March 7 to discuss the issue.
