Presidential Election Still Undecided

It may take days or even weeks, we may even see another election go to the Supreme Court but as of this morning, the outcome of the U.S. presidential election was still unknown as races in several states are still undecided and millions of ballots are still being counted in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and other  states.

As of 3 a.m. Eastern time Wednesday morning, President Donald Trump had won 213 electoral votes, and former Vice President Joe Biden had secured 236, the Associated Press reported. A candidate needs 270 electoral votes to win.

The races in Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Georgia, Nevada, and Maine were undecided as of 3am.

The final outcome of the presidential race is not expected to be determined until later this week, at the earliest, and may turn into a protracted court battle in several states, perhaps even leading to the SUpreme Court much as the 2000 election wound up.

“We knew this was going to go long,” Biden said in a speech to supporters early on Wednesday. “I’m here to tell you tonight I believe we’re on track to win this election.”

He also said that "the election would not be over until every vote was counted".

In a speech at the White House in the middle of the night about an hour after Biden spoke, Trump said he believed had won the election.

“We were getting ready to win this election, frankly we did win this election,” said Trump

As of 3 a.m. Eastern time Wednesday, Trump had not won the election as there are still more then enough electoral college votes available in the states where the presidential race has not been called for either candidate.

In Pennsylvania, considered by many pundits to be a state central to deciding the outcome of the election, with 64% of the vote reported, Trump was ahead 55.7% to 43.1%, a lead of 670,000 votes, the AP reported. There are more than 2 million mail-in ballots still to be counted in the state. The results in Pennsylvania are expected no later than Friday according to Pennsylvania Officials.

Vote counting in Michigan and Wisconsin was still underway late last night. Trump was leading in Georgia, but the race had not been called as of 3 a.m.

Michigan, where many mail-in ballots are still being tallied, expects to have complete unofficial results by Friday. Wisconsin is expected to report their full unofficial results today.

The Associated Press and Fox News called Arizona for Biden, but CNN, NBC and CBS had not yet made a call on the state. With 80% of the vote reported, Biden was ahead 51.8% to 46.9%, the AP said.

Trump won Florida, a vital state in his reelection bid.  Trump also won Ohio, a crucial state, which he needed to claim an electoral college victory. North Carolina is another crucial state and Trump was leading there as of 3 am.

He also won Texas which continued its streak of voting Republican in every presidential election since 1976.

Biden won the solidly blue states, as expected, which included California, Colorado, Illinois, New Mexico, New York, Virginia and pretty much all of the northeast.
