Maloney Holds First-Ever Town Hall in the Park

Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) yesterday hosted his first-ever “Speak with Sean” in the park. This event allowed constituents to connect with the Congressman and get help from his office during the pandemic, while staying safe and socially distanced from the comfort of their lawn chairs and picnic blankets.

“We're living in a new normal – that means we need new ideas. I've got to keep coming up with safe ways to connect directly with New Yorkers,” said Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney. “The point is to stay in touch with people, find out what is happening on the ground, and update folks on what I’m working on in Washington. I am happy that we’ve done some really important work in the last few weeks in Washington. We’ve got $339 million coming to the four counties I represent and $40 billion coming to New York state when you add it all up. Help is here.”

Rep. Maloney has hosted over 175 town halls since he was elected to Congress - including many Telephone Town Halls and Facebook Live events with local doctors and community leaders throughout the pandemic. This was his third in-person town hall since the pandemic began.

Rep. Maloney’s office has a talented team of constituent advocates who have helped hundreds of New Yorkers cut through government red tape and get the assistance they need during the coronavirus pandemic.
