Carmel Man Arrested For Shoplifting

Putnam County Sheriff, Robert L. Langley Jr. reports the arrest of a Carmel man for shoplifting. On January 24, 2019, at approximately 5:17 pm, Deputy Brian Sacher responded to the Tops Supermarket, located in Putnam Plaza, in the Town of Carmel, for a report of a man shoplifting items from the store. Upon arrival, Deputy Sacher placed the shoplifter, Anthony Bova, age 50, of Carmel, under arrest. Mr. Bova was transported to the Putnam County Correctional Facility for arrest processing. Mr. Bova was processed and issued an appearance ticket for Petit Larceny, returnable to the Town of Carmel Justice Court. During arrest processing, it was revealed that Mr. Bova had an open warrant for Petit Larceny, out of the Yonkers Police Department. The Yonkers Police Department was contacted, confirmed the warrant, and agreed to extradite Mr. Bova. Mr. Bova is due back in the Town of Carmel Justice Court, at future date and time.
