New York State Police, Troop K, Remove 27 Drivers From Area Roads This Past Memorial Day Weekend.

The NY State Police, in a highly publicized initiative, were especially vigilant in enforcement of DWI , reckless driving, safety belt laws and a host of other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations this past Memorial Day weekend.  Troopers from Troop K in Somers reported that they issued numerous citations for these violations and also removed 21 drunk or impaired drivers from the area roads. Listed below are several excerpts from a press release detailing those arrests.

 On May 24, 2019, State Police from SP Brewster arrested Percy L. Beamon, age 61, of Carmel, NY, for DWI.  He was traveling on Interstate 684 in the town of Southeast, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law.  Investigation revealed he was under the influence of alcohol, and was subsequently arrested.

On May 25, 2019, State Police from SP Brewster arrested Stephen P. Pohlot, age 51, of Danbury, CT, for DWI.  He was traveling on State Route 6 in the town of Southeast, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law.  Investigation revealed he was under the influence of alcohol, and was subsequently arrested.

On May 25, 2019, State Police from SP Brewster arrested Lawrence C. Marquez, age 27, of South Salem, NY, for DWI.  He was traveling on State Route 9 in the village of Croton-on-Hudson, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law.  Investigation revealed he was under the influence of alcohol, and was subsequently arrested.

On May 25, 2019, State Police from SP Somers arrested Johnny K. Bravo, age 55, of Somers, NY, for Aggravated DWI.  He was traveling on Interstate 684 in the town of Lewisboro, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law.  Investigation revealed he was under the influence of alcohol, and was subsequently arrested.

On May 25, 2019, State Police from SP Somers arrested Jesse E. Zappala, age 27, of Harrison, NY, for DWI.  He was traveling on Interstate 684 in the town of Bedford, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law.  Investigation revealed he was under the influence of alcohol, and was subsequently arrested.

On May 25, 2019, State Police from SP Dover Plains arrested Perminderji S. Dhanoa, age 40, of Shrub Oak, NY, for DWI.  He was traveling on State Route 55 in the town of Pawling, when he was found relieving himself on the shoulder of the roadway.  Investigation revealed he was under the influence of alcohol, and was subsequently arrested.

On May 26, 2019, State Police from SP Brewster arrested Erik K. Reid, age 22, of Vernon, CT, for DWI.  He was traveling on State Route 6 in the town of Southeast, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law.  Investigation revealed he was under the influence of alcohol, and was subsequently arrested.

On May 26, 2019, State Police from SP Cortlandt arrested Robert J. Passantino, age 43, of Carmel, NY, for DWI with two prior convictions, a class D felony, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 1st degree, a class E felony.  He was traveling on State Route 6 in the town of Southeast, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law.  Investigation revealed he was under the influence of alcohol, and was subsequently arrested.

On May 26, 2019, State Police from SP Brewster arrested Isau R. Martinez Coronado, age 27, of Norwalk, CT, for DWI with a prior conviction within ten years, a class E felony.  He was traveling on Danbury Road in the town of Southeast, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law.  Investigation revealed he was under the influence of alcohol, and was subsequently arrested.

On May 27, 2019, State Police from SP Cortlandt arrested Darwin A. Betancourth, age 28, of Yorktown, NY, for Aggravated DWI.  He was traveling on Red Mill Road in the town of Cortlandt, when his vehicle became disabled due to a flat tire.  Investigation revealed he was under the influence of alcohol, and was subsequently arrested.

On May 27, 2019, State Police from SP Somers arrested Michelle B. Legoues, age 54, of Yorktown, NY, for DWI.  She was traveling on State Route 35 in the town of Somers, and was involved in a two-car motor vehicle crash.  Investigation revealed she was under the influence of alcohol, and was subsequently arrested.
