Wellpath Donates Surgical Masks to Correction Staff and Residents;

Move Part of an Aggressive Effort to Help Combat COVID-19

Wellpath announced a donation of surgical masks to Westchester County Department of Correction to add to their strategic supply being provided to their staff and residents. This effort is in addition to masks being provided for all Wellpath staff and supports the mask protocols for all essential staff and residents that was initiated by the Westchester County Department of Correction (WCDOC) in an effort to lessen the introduction and spread of COVID-19 in the facility. 

In announcing the initiative, Wellpath CEO Jorge Dominicis said, “Providing the best healthcare to vulnerable patients in challenging environments is at the core of what we do. The best way to protect our patients from the threat of COVID-19 is to prevent the spread and provide staff and partners the support they need as they work tirelessly on the frontlines.” 

With the donations, Wellpath will provide the masks to ensure that stockpile of surgical masks remain available for all WCDOC staff, contract personnel and residents. 

“The next several weeks are a critical time when we want to work together with clients to contain the spread of the virus as much as possible”, said Dr. Thomas Pangburn, SVP and Chief Clinical Officer.  Our masking policies will follow and build on the CDC recommendations.  Providing masks for correction staff and residents enhances the Westchester County Department of Correction strategic approach, to combat the spread of the virus.
