Slice of Saugatuck Festival is September 12!

Discover Saugatuck and Eat Your Heart Out for $10

The Westport Weston Chamber of Commerce will hold its 4th Annual Slice of Saugatuck on Saturday, September 12, from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. in Westport’s Saugatuck neighborhood.
Food, music and fun for the whole family. And all for a great cause. Matthew Mandell, the Chamber’s Executive Director, called the festival an opportunity for “people who can afford food to help those who can’t by providing funds for Homes With Hope’s Food Pantry at the Gillespie Center.”

Buy your $10 ticket ($5 for children) when you arrive and sample specialties from all 26 of Saugatuck’s restaurants — from Dunville’s to the Black Duck, Tarantino’s to Tarry Lodge to Tutti's, Viva Zapata to Garelick & Herbs to Fleisher's Craft Butchery, and many more. Stop in at 99 Bottles for a wine tasting, Saugatuck Sweets for ice cream, and coffee at Dunkin’ Donuts.

Your ticket includes a map of Saugatuck and your Golden Passport — a menu of all the food vendors. Visit ten or more, get each box checked, fill in your name and e-mail address and become eligible for one of the many $25 gift certificates.
Saugatuck is easy to walk around. Learn about auctions at Westport Auction, try paddle boarding at Downunder, and see how the smart home works at Lifetronic Systems. Let the younger ones enjoy the balloon artist, a bouncy house and a climbing wall.
And enjoy the music — nine bands — including Silver Steel at Bridge Square, Grosvenor Square at the Duck, and School of Rock at Railroad Place.

Then go over to Luciano Park. Take in a Black Belt Tae Kwan Do demonstration, stop by the Mini-Maker Faire, and stop by the Staples Battle of the Bands with B Side, Pizza Dust and others.

Stay late. After the sampling ends, enjoy Sweet Sounds of Summer in the park till 7:00.

If you get hungry again, stop in to your favorite restaurant and enjoy the full menu.

Saugatuck is right off Exit 17 on the Connecticut Turnpike, and you will find almost unlimited free parking near the exits in the railroad parking lots.
