The iconic Wall Street Theater prepares for its next talent search, Dance Crew Challenge. Upon the success of this year’s Connecticut’s Got Talent show, and in keeping with the Theater’s mission to foster young talent, this next form of artistic expression is another Jumpcast Productions event in the hands of Wall Street Theater Artistic Director Billy Blanks JR., a nationally recognized professional dancer in his own right. Billy and his Jumpcast Productions team has worked with such dance legends and shows from Paula Abdul, Emmy Award-Winning NappyTabs, Fik-shun, tWitch, and Doriana Sanchez to Nakul Dev Mahajan, So You Think You Can Dance, and Dancing With The Stars.
“We’re in the throes of viewing video submissions of all styles of dance from hip hop, ballet, jazz, modern, tap, Bollywood, salsa, and even ballroom,” says Billy of the online and video submission process found on the Wall Street Theater website https://wallstreettheater.com/dance-crew-challenge/, “We will then narrow it down to 25 crews to perform for the audition show on July 13, and ultimately, 10 crews will be chosen to perform at the finale show on July 20.”
Dance crews, many of whom have never performed in a professional stage environment, are provided with artistic direction, music and lighting production, stage presence coaching, and expert guidance. The winning crew will receive $1000, a headline show at the Wall Street Theater, plus the opportunity to star in a 5-video mini-series on The MoveTube Network, YouTube’s leading lifestyle, dance, and fitness page with stars from So You Think You Can Dance, Dancing With The Stars, and more!
“We are looking for an act that we can help develop and grow into a show that can tour the US and come back to us to perform. We want young talent to say that they ‘got their start at the Wall Street Theater,’” beams Billy.
