Why Small Businesses Matter
Shop small, do big things for your community
Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!
You're IT Inspira Marketing Group!
Three questions with Jade Axman, Social Media and Public Relations Coordinator of Inspira Marketing Group.
Why did you start your business?
I had spent more than 20 years in experiential marketing and felt that I could create a better agency. I envisioned a different kind of agency - one built upon relationships and doing the right thing, where people came before profits, and where the team was passionate about the work they were doing (and had fun doing it!). I wanted to build a company committed to optimism, excellence, and where innovation was at the forefront of company culture. And, in 2008, I launched the Inspira Marketing Group.
Our purpose was inspired by my daughter, Kennedy, who has battled childhood cancer for most of her life. As such, we’ve partnered with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, an organization that supports childhood cancer research and provides services to kids and their families in their fight against childhood cancer. Over the years, I’m honored to share that our team has donated more than $1 million to the cause. We also strive to actively give back to our community by donating our time and experience to raise funds and awareness for local charities, including PAWS, The Open Doors Shelter, and Norwalk public schools.
Today, Inspira is thriving. We’re based in South Norwalk, with satellite offices in NYC, Chicago, and Los Angeles, we employee over 300 of the best talent in the industry. Our client roster includes some of the world’s most recognizable brands, including Diageo, Nestle, Mondelez, Microsoft, and Jeep. We’ve been named among the fastest-growing companies in the U.S. by Inc. for six consecutive years. Named to the Entrepreneur 360 list of leading independently - owned companies in the U.S. Finally, we’ve made the list of Best Places to Work in Connecticut by the Hartford Business Journal for four consecutive years.

Other local restaurants and catering companies we work with include Plaza Deli, Evaritos, Forever Sweet Bakery, Stew Leonards, Harbor Harvest, and Garelick & Herb.
