Beginning Wed., May 19, vaccinations against COVID-19 become available once each week in The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk.
The Norwalk Health Department will offer Moderna (first or second dose) and Johnson & Johnson vaccinations in The Maritime Aquarium’s Oyster Hall, just inside the main entrance at North Water and Ann streets.
The initial clinic will be on Wed., May 19 from 1-6 p.m. Next dates and times (subject to change) are also on Wednesdays: May 26 (4-6 p.m.) and June 2, 9 & 16 (all 5-7 p.m.).
Walk-ups are welcome. No appointments are needed. The shots are free to anyone age 18 and older, and no insurance is necessary. (The vaccination clinics do not include admission to the Aquarium, which closes daily at 5 p.m.)
Enter at the Group Entrance door, near the Aquarium’s new main entrance. Validations will be available for those who park in the Maritime Garage.
“Since the COVID outbreak began, The Maritime Aquarium has worked to set the example through our science-based responses and protocols,” said Aquarium spokesman Dave Sigworth. “So of course we are happy to offer our facilities to the Norwalk Health Department as a vaccination location. We encourage all who are yet to be vaccinated to do so.”
