The Connecticut Green Bank, formerly the Clean Energy Finance and Investment Authority (CEFIA), just announced that homeowners will now have until April 9th to participate in the Solarize Southbury program. The two-week program extension will provide additional time for those who were impacted by the harsh winter to complete the signup process.
“There has been strong interest in the program to date,” reported Paul Zagozewski, Chairman of the Southbury Energy Task Force, “We’ve seen over 160 homeowners express interest in exploring the program. We expect that number to grow with this extension. Thus far in the program 50Kw of Solar has been contracted which, in addition to saving residents money, will reduce CO2 emissions 60,000 pounds per year versus electricity generated from fossil fuels”.
Many residents, installers, and volunteers working on the Solarize Southbury program were especially hard hit by this winter. Attempts to make house visits by installers were hampered by the weather. The extension provides additional time for homeowners to work with installers to complete the decision-making process.
