Southbury Police investigate suspicious incident at school bus stop

On Wednesday, 03/02/16, the Southbury Resident Trooper's Office received a complaint of a suspicious incident that reportedly occurred at school bus stop at the intersection of River Hill Rd and Branch Rd. in Southbury. The nature of the complaint alleged that an elementary school aged student may have been approached by a white male parked near a bus stop.

As a result, the Southbury Resident Troopers Office and the Connecticut State Police conducted an extensive investigation in an attempt to locate and /or identify the occupant of that suspicious vehicle. The investigation included conducting multiple interviews with potential witnesses as well as neighbors.

As a result of these efforts, the male occupant and his vehicle were identified. Further investigation also revealed that the male occupant was working as a contractor in the area and that this incident does not appear to be of a criminal nature.

At this time, this case will be closed.
