Southbury First Selectman Candidate Tim O'Neil to host Meet and Greet Sponsored by Senor Pancho's in Southbury
SOUTHBURY – Democratic Candidate for Southbury First Selectman Tim O’Neil will host a Meet and Greet sponsored by Senor Pancho’s, Thursday, October 5 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., 385 Main Street South, Southbury.
“I have been taking my family to eat at Senor Pancho’s in Southbury since it opened 35 years ago. Owner Andy Adames has always been a good friend and gracious host. I am very thankful for his generous offer to sponsor this Meet and Greet,” said Mr. O’Neil.
“Please join me for a bite and conversation. I want to meet as many Southbury residents as possible to discuss my vision for how to move the town forward, as well as address your concerns. No matter your political party, I’m here to listen,” he said.
Mr. O’Neil, age 62, is a lifelong, 4th generation, Southbury resident. His family has deep roots in Southbury, having resided in town since the 1700’s. Mr. O’Neil’s great grandfather, Sidney S. Platt II served as a State Representative for the Southbury district for several years. He and his wife Ruth Scoville raised their children in Southbury in a Colonial farmhouse at the base of Flag Swamp Road. The farm at one point encompassed much of the land of the Southbury Training School.
Mr. O’Neil’s grandmother, Edith Platt, married Edward Hveem, also a lifelong Southbury resident. Mr. Hveem served as First Selectman of Southbury in 1967 and was instrumental in the development of the town and of Heritage Village. Mr. Hveem later became the Southbury Training School Farm Manager where Mr. O’Neil spent much of his childhood and high school years working on the farm.
Mr. O’Neil is a graduate of the University of San Diego in CA, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. In 1989, he started his own outdoor property management company, Green Thumb Lawns, which he owned and operated for more than 30 years.
He is currently employed as a Certified Property Manager with Felner Corporation in Fairfield, CT specializing in facilities management of commercial property and HOAs. He oversees eight diverse properties within Fairfield and New Haven Counties.
“Under my administration I will listen to our community member’s concerns, communicate effectively with our volunteers and town employees, collaborate, and cooperate with local leaders and state representatives, always be transparent and professional, and show respect to all,” said Mr. O’Neil. “Join me at Senor Pancho’s and let’s talk.”
