June is dog licensing month, and owners in Southbury can again take advantage of an easier way to renew. If your dog was registered last year and the rabies certificate is still current, you can save time by renewing the license through the online portal between June 1 and August 31.
Dog licenses can also be renewed by mail or in person at the Town Clerk's Office at Southbury Town Hall during office hours (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 8am-5pm, Wednesday 8am-6pm).
Per State Statute, there is a $1 penalty fee per month when an owner fails to license a dog by the June 30 deadline.

The Southbury Town Clerk will also be at the Rabies Vaccination Clinic to issue dog licenses.
The clinic is organized by the Southbury Animal Control and Roxbury Animal Clinic and will be held on Sunday, June 8 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the Southbury Town Garage on 66 Peter Road.
Connecticut law requires that all dogs and cats 3 months of age or older be vaccinated against rabies. Written proof of prior vaccination for rabies must be presented to qualify for a three-year certificate. Tags are not acceptable proof. A one-year certificate will be given to all others.

If you no longer have your dog, please contact the Southbury Town Clerk's Office at 203-262-0613 to let them know.
Thank you if you've already licensed your dog.
