Acts 4 Ministry's "Give Local" Fundraiser Next Week

Next Tuesday, April 26 beginning at 7:00 a.m. through Wednesday, April 27 at 7:00 p.m., Acts 4 Ministry will seek donations during the Connecticut Community Foundation’s annual “Give Local Greater Waterbury and Litchfield Hills” 36-hour online community giving challenge created to help 21 local area non-profit organizations raise needed funds and awareness of their organization’s ambitions.

“Every dollar donated to Acts 4 will be eligible to be enhanced with bonus funds donated to our non-profit organization by the Connecticut Community Foundation (CCF) and their sponsors. The more donations Acts 4 Ministry receives, the more our organization will also be eligible to win bonus cash prizes,” stated Sarah Elizabeth DiMeo-Carabetta, executive director of Acts 4 Ministry, Inc.

Acts 4 Ministry is a collaborative group of a volunteer board of directors, staff members, and dozens of volunteers who desire to share God's love by meeting the comforting physical needs of others. We achieve this goal daily on many levels by collecting and distributing, free of charge to recipients, clothing, and housewares plus a free furniture distribution program. Families and individuals are frequently referred to Acts 4 Ministry by other charitable and social organizations to assist people who have suddenly lost their homes to a fire, flood, or other unexpected devastation or upsetting life event.

“The organization's vision,” explained DiMeo-Carabetta, “is to build relationships with people with varying levels of needs while providing them with the basics of daily living while showing them the love of Christ through action. Acts 4 Ministry strives to partner with churches, social service agencies, and public schools to help identify and serve people with these needs in the context of the broader community regardless of their faith, race, creed, national origin, or willingness to participate in religious activities.”

Located at 1713 Thomaston Avenue in Waterbury, Acts 4 Ministry's building also features a store environment where people with immediate needs can select clothing, furniture, and household items. Individuals and families can personally select clothing, dishes, glassware, furnishings, and other basic needs at no charge.

Recently photographed was Acts 4 Ministry Volunteer Kadian Fletcher who is among the dozens of volunteers who help the non-denominational non-profit organization serve individuals and families throughout the Greater Waterbury region who come to Acts 4 to shop for clothing and household items needed for day-to-day living.
