Acts 4 Ministry Seeking Men's Winter Clothing Donations

Acts 4 Ministry Inc., a non-denominational, non-profit charitable organization serving the greater Waterbury region, is seeking new or gently-worn hats, gloves, scarves, sweatshirts, new socks, thermals, and undergarments primarily for men but also for children and women during their 2022-23 "Share the Warmth" Drive through Tuesday, February 28.

Sarah E. DiMeo-Carabetta, Acts 4 Ministry Executive Director, stated,  "We especially need warm clothing for men, including jeans size 28-36 waist in all lengths. Plus clothing for boys' and girls' sizes 14-16, girl's pants size 10, and girl's tops size 8 and 16, men's shoe sizes 10-13, plus gently worn clothing and boots for women.

"Clothing needs include long-sleeve tops and T-shirts, sweatshirts, leggings, jeans, pajamas in all sizes, pajamas for children in sizes 6 to 20, and boys’ winter jackets in all sizes. Socks are also very much needed along with belts, underwear & undershirts, slippers, sneakers, boots, winter hats, gloves, scarves, and sweaters,"

Thomaston Savings Bank has supported the Share the Warmth Drive through an employee collection for the past four years. Cheryl Lindstrom, AVP/Community Outreach Officer (pictured with donations) commented, "Our bank and employees are always proud to support Acts 4 Ministry's ambitions of inspiring acts of love. We thank the Ministry for providing dignified, thoughtful, caring support and services to those most in need in our community."

"Our continual mission," explained DiMeo-Carabetta, "is to provide individuals or families who have experienced a life devastating event with opportunities to feel loved as they rebuild their lives with basic needs by coming to our facility to personally select clothing, dishes, glassware, furnishings, and other basic needs at no charge."

The organization partners with churches, social service agencies, and public schools to help identify and serve people regardless of their faith, race, creed, national origin, or willingness to participate in religious activities.

"Individuals and families are often referred to us by other charitable organizations," explained DiMeo-Carabetta. "In our store, they experience an atmosphere that preserves their dignity and allows them to personally select what they need while receiving caring support."
