Beginning at 7:00 a.m. next Tuesday, April 25 through 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, Acts 4 Ministry will be seeking donations during the Connecticut Community Foundation’s annual “Give Local Greater Waterbury and Litchfield Hills” 36-hour online community giving challenge. “Give Local” supports over 280 local area non-profit organizations to raise needed funds and awareness of their organization’s ambitions.
“Every dollar donated to Acts 4 during those 36 hours will make our organization eligible for bonus funds donated to our non-profit by the Connecticut Community Foundation (CCF) and their sponsors. The more donations Acts 4 Ministry receives, the more our organization will also be eligible to win bonus cash prizes,” stated Sarah Elizabeth DiMeo-Carabetta, executive director of Acts 4 Ministry, Inc.
The non-denominational Acts 4 Ministry is celebrating its 20th anniversary of serving the daily living needs of individuals and families throughout the greater Waterbury region who have suddenly lost their homes to fire, flood, and other unexpected devastating life events. These individuals and families are invited to visit Acts 4 Ministry’s 1713 Thomaston Avenue boutique shop in Waterbury to personally select, at no charge, clothing, dishes, glassware, furnishings, and items to meet other basic needs.
“Acts 4 Ministry,” explained DiMeo-Carabetta, “is dedicated to building relationships with people while providing them with the basics of daily living needs and showing them the love of Christ through action. We strive to partner with churches, social service agencies, and public schools to help identify and serve people with these needs in the context of the broader community regardless of their faith, race, creed, national origin, or willingness to participate in religious activities.”
