This Weekend, May 6 & 7, Acts 4 Ministry Will Benefit From "Quassy Cares" Donations Drive

During this coming weekend, May 6 and 7, Quassy Amusement Park in Middlebury will continue to kick off its 2023 season with $17 All-Day Ride Wristbands for attendees bringing in donations of newly purchased, unopened personal care products and toiletries to benefit Acts 4 Ministry in Waterbury, or non-perishable unopened food items, dog foods, or dog toys, to benefit local food banks.

"Quassy Cares, Neighbors In Need" charitable weekends are part of Quassy's extensive community outreach program. "Guests can save $9.99 for every All-Day Ride ticket purchased by bringing in personal care items," stated Eric Anderson, president of Quassy Amusement Park. "Acts 4 ministry will distribute the donated items, so it's a win-win for everyone."

"For the past three years,” commented Acts 4 Ministry Executive Director Sarah Elizabeth DiMeo-Carabetta, “our non-denominational non-profit organization has benefited from this generous Quassy Cares event. Each year we receive dozens of diapers, soaps, sanitary napkins, shaving items, and so much more. We are immensely grateful for this continued opportunity."

During 2023, Acts 4 Ministry is celebrating its 20th anniversary of serving the daily living needs of individuals and families throughout the greater Waterbury region who have lost their homes to fire, flood, and other unexpected devastating life events. These individuals and families are invited to visit Acts 4 Ministry's 1713 Thomaston Avenue boutique shop in Waterbury to personally select, at no charge, clothing, dishes, glassware, furnishings, and items to meet other basic needs.

"We are dedicated," explained DiMeo-Carabetta, "to building relationships with people while providing them with the basics of daily living needs and showing them the love of Christ through action. We partner with churches, social service agencies, and public schools to help serve people with these needs regardless of people's faith, race, creed, national origin, or participation in religious activities."
