Acts 4 Minisry Raising Funds Through Travelers Championship

Through Sunday, June 25th, the non-denominational non-profit organization Acts 4 Ministry, Inc., which serves the greater Waterbury region, is participating in the popular Travelers Championship’s Birdies For Charity fundraising event.

Birdies for Charity utilizes the excitement of the Travelers Championship to help regional nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations across the northeastern United States raise awareness and much-needed funds to support their missions. Thanks to the support of event sponsor Webster Bank, and supporting sponsor, Enterprise, the charitable organizations will receive at least a 15% bonus on top of each dollar raised.

“We are excited to be in our third year of participating in this notable fundraiser event,” stated Acts 4 Ministry Executive Director Sarah Elizabeth DiMeo-Carabetta, ‘because 100% of every dollar donated by our generous contributors will go toward the ongoing mission of Acts 4 Ministry only. Through the additional Bonus Bucks Pool, the tournament will give each participating charity an additional 15% of every donation dollar. This is an exceptional fundraising opportunity.”

During 2023, the non-denominational Acts 4 Ministry is celebrating its 20th anniversary of serving the daily living needs of individuals and families throughout the greater Waterbury region who have suddenly lost their homes to fire, flood, and other unexpected devastating life events. These individuals and families are invited to visit Acts 4 Ministry’s 1713 Thomaston Avenue boutique shop in Waterbury to personally select, at no charge, clothing, dishes, glassware, furnishings, and items to meet other basic needs.

“Our organization,” explained DiMeo-Carabetta, “is dedicated to building relationships with people while providing them with the basics of daily living needs and showing them the love of Christ through action. We strive to partner with churches, social service agencies, and public schools to help identify and serve people with these needs in the context of the broader community regardless of their faith, race, creed, national origin, or willingness to participate in religious activities.”
