Three Women, Three Roads at Southbury Public Library on March 22

Three Women, Three Roads, a play written and performed by Nancy Palmento Schuler on Thursday, March 22nd from 7-8pm in the Kingsley Room at Southbury Library

Three Women, Three Roads features three separate stories about three very different women, why they moved to the Waterbury area and what their expectations were here. All are based on actual people and facts, although some names have been changed. Teresa, an immigrant from Italy, tells her story about raising her family in Waterbury at the beginning of the 20th century. Next, meet Junie who moved from the Upper East Side in New York to Middlebury in the 1940s. Finally, there is Ruth who relocated from North Carolina to Waterbury in the 1960s.

Nancy Palmento Schuler was born and raised in Waterbury and has lived in Litchfield for the past 18 years with her husband, Ed. At age 69, Schuler has been transitioning to writing and acting. Her story about Teresa, her Italian immigrant grandmother, has been presented at the New York Public Library Equity Theater and the Manhattan Repertory Theatre. She has also performed at the Osher Life Long Learning at the University of Connecticut, (UCONN), the Silas Bronson Library, Shakesperience Productions, the Mattatuck Museum, and many community centers and libraries in Connecticut.
