Collage Workshop on June 23 at Southbury Public Library

Collage Workshop on Saturday, June 23 from 11:30-1pm in the Kingsley room

Illustrator Marcela Staudenmaier will be guiding participants through the process of creating art inspired by the Connecticut woodlands, particularly the ones that we have nearby. Participants will reinterpret the landscape of our woodlands with cut-paper collage.

Marcela Staudenmaier is a graduate of the Children's Book Illustration Certificate Program at the Rhode Island School of Design and an active member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.  In 2016, Marcela was selected by the Connecticut Humanities and the Center for the Book as the illustrator of one of twelve chapters in a serialized middle grade story called The Great CT Caper. Her art has been exhibited in juried shows across Connecticut, Massachusetts and California. Recently, she was selected as one of the Artist-in-residence at the Ely Center for Contemporary Art during the month of City-Wide Open Studios.
