Winter Felting at Arts Escape on Friday, December 9

SOUTHBURY – Arts Escape is now accepting registrations for an upcoming one-session winter felting class held in December. The class will be held at their location at 493 Heritage Road, Suite 4C in Southbury.

On Friday, December 9, Robin McCahill will hold a one-session class called Winter Felting. Everyone is invited to come and explore the many creative possibilities of needle felting just in time for the holiday season. Using a special barbed needle and colorful wool, students will learn how use layers of wool to create their choice of an ornament, a relief sculpture, small free-standing or hanging bird, various animals, or small frameable wall art pieces. This class will use a method called dry felting.

Robin McCahill is a fiber artist and puppeteer. She works mainly with natural fibers and repurposed materials. She creates puppets, wearable art, sculpture, and wall art. Her work was recently exhibited at the Chesire Library this summer.
