Bassist and Composer Adi Meyerson and Band Perform at Trinity Southport on June 3

Trinity Episcopal Church in Southport, CT is delighted to host the Adi Meyerson Band on Saturday, June 3rd at 3:00pm. All are welcome for this special concert; no affiliation with the Church is required.

Adi Meyerson was born in America and moved to Jerusalem with her family when she was two. She began playing the electric bass at age 14. Meyerson was accepted into the prominent collaborative program between The Center of Jazz Studies (CJS) at the Israel Conservatory of Music and The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music.

In 2012, Meyerson moved to New York to continue her studies at The New School and the Manhattan School of Music where she received her Master in Music in jazz and composition. She has studied with Reggie Workman, Ron Carter, Charles Tolliver, and many more. Meyerson has played with many greats including Joel Frahm, Joe Magnarelli, Steve Nelson, Charli Persip, and many others around the NYC area in highly renown venues such as Mezzrow, Smalls Jazz, The Jazz Standard, Smoke, and others.

The band’s first album "Where We Stand” was released in 2017 and includes nine original compositions by Meyerson. The  second album “I Want to Sing My Heart Out in Praise of Life,” was released in 2021. New York Music Daily described the album as, “Artful...optimistic....[and] one of the most ambitious jazz releases of the past several months.”

The Adi Meyerson Band headlined the "Make Some Noise" music festival in 2016 and the Center City Jazz Festival in Philadelphia in 2019, as well as the international Guatemala Jazz Festival in 2019.

As a bandleader and composer, Meyerson has successfully made an impact on the NYC scene and earned her title as an up and coming young talent.

Dr. Robert Kwan, Trinity Southport Music Director and Organist, comments, "Having heard Adi a number of times performing with Svetlana and the Delancey Five, we are thrilled to have her back headlining her own ensemble. This talented young artist has already established a worldwide reputation and we look forward to welcoming her back to Southport!"

This special performance is the latest in Trinity’s “Music Under the Spire” series.
