Ready, Set, Roll Class in Southbury this Saturday

American Red Cross Prepares Volunteers for Hurricane Season with Ready, Set, Roll Class!

The American Red Cross in Connecticut is hosting a hands-on training on Saturday, August 17 from 10 am to 2pm at the American Red Cross Southbury Office for current volunteers in preparation for a more active 2019 Hurricane Season.

Last week, NOAA announced current weather patterns are now more favorable for above-normal hurricane activity. To prepare, the Red Cross will be hosting their Ready, Set, Roll course this Saturday, August 17 in Southbury, Connecticut to train current volunteers how to operate Red Cross Emergency Response Vehicles. Emergency Response Vehicles are iconic vehicles for the Red Cross and can be seen during large disasters out in impacted communities delivering, food, supplies, comfort and hope to those in need.

The Ready, Set, Roll course will provide participants with the opportunity to learn about and use a Red Cross emergency response vehicle and all related equipment. Participants will begin the day by learning in a classroom setting and will then receive a vehicle orientation and take a road test. This class is a unique way to highlight how the Red Cross prepares for Hurricane Season and learn how the community can join the Red Cross and become volunteers!

American Red Cross Southbury Office is located at  385 Main Street South, Suite 214 in Southbury.
