Town of Southbury is accepting applications for Animal Control Officer

The Town of Southbury annouces open part time position: Animal Control Officer

Responsible for receiving and responding to complaints regarding domestic and wildlife animal from the general public; to enforce all relevant State and Town laws, ordinances and policies; to conduct public awareness events and to maintain pound; supervises the Assistant Animal Control Officers.

Graduation from high school plus two years of specialized training in the safe handling of animals. Must possess valid CT motor vehicle operator’s license. Must obtain rabies vaccination and keep current. Must have current CT Animal Control Officer Certification or be willing to complete within one year.

This is a part time position, 25 hours per week.

 

Salary starts at $19 per hour DOE.
