Town of Southbury Announces Employment Opportunity: Transfer Station Operator

  • 40 hours per week, $23.41 per hour. Tuesday thru Saturday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Performs various Transfer Station duties, including the checking and directing of residents and trailers, collecting monies, piling and crushing of waste and recycling materials, operating and maintaining the hopper, trailer truck and loader along with other duties as assigned.
  • Helps residents with recycling and waste disposal. Fills in for Transfer Station Foreman when not present. Work frequently involves heavy lifting and strenuous tasks and is performed out-of-doors involving exposure to varying climatic conditions.
  • Must be DEEP certified (or pass certification within 3 months) as a CT Transfer Station Operator and possess a valid Class B CDL (Class A CDL preferred) motor vehicle license.
