Michaels Jewelers Danbury Welcomes Southbury Resident as New Manager

Michaels Jewelers at 132 Federal Road/Route 7 in Danbury, across from Stew Leonard’s, and a certified authorized PANDORA retail location, has welcomed a new manager, Ms. Michele Geffert of Southbury. 

Lindsay Michaels-Gorski, a fifth generation of the Michaels’ founders and current director of marketing for the statewide jewelry specialist, announced that Ms. Geffert is, “Working to become certified by the GIA, the Gemological Institute of America in Diamond Essentials having recently completed courses in Jewelry Essentials, Colored Stone Essentials, and Diamond Essentials.

“A GIA Diamond Specialist,” explained Michaels-Gorski, “is a highly-trained professional who has studied at the GIA. This national independent nonprofit organization’s mission is to protect the gem and jewelry-buying public through research, education, laboratory services, and instrument development. Their recognized goal is to uphold the highest standards of integrity, academics, science, and professionalism in the gem and diamond industry.”

Michaels has been the first jeweler in Connecticut to earn Certified Gemologist and Appraiser titles, and it possesses the only AGS Accredited Gem Laboratory in the state, one of the largest group of jewelry and gems appraisal departments in their retail stores statewide.

Michele Geffert possesses more than 25 years of extensive experience in corporate and retail management from big box, soft lines, hard lines, specialty and luxury sales. Currently, she is an active member of the Danbury Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club of Danbury, and the Danbury Rotary Club. 

With her husband Gary, Michelle Geffert resides in Southbury with their three children.
