Wisdom House In Litchfield Now Host Of Litchfield Area Business Association (LABA)

“Since February of this year when Wisdom House Retreat and Conference Center in Litchfield began hosting the 2019 Litchfield Area Business Association (LABA) monthly noon-time networking luncheon meetings, the number of attendees and new members has steadily increased to a record number,” stated LABA President Paul McLaughlin of Litchfield Bancorp.

The LABA meetings were previously held in the Litchfield Fire House. Several caterers, including the highly-regarded Wisdom House Retreat and Conference Center’s kitchen headed by award-winning head Chef Margaret Jacobs, continue to generously provide the monthly LABA luncheons.

“Wisdom House,” explains executive director Deborah Kelly, “is an interfaith retreat and conference center located at 229 East Litchfield Road in East Litchfield. In 2019, we are celebrating 70 years of presenting programs in spirituality, education and the arts. Additionally, Wisdom House continues to offer hospitality for organizations from across the United States and around the world whose mission is consistent with that of Wisdom House.

“The mission of Wisdom House is rooted in the Judeo-Christian Wisdom tradition which supports the center’s commitment to sustainability and concern for contemporary issues. The center is a ministry of the Daughters of Wisdom.”

The LABA networking and leads organization meet the third Tuesday of each month at 12:00 noon for one hour. The annual membership fee of $100 includes cooperative advertising, social and networking events, and lunch. To learn more, visit www.litchfieldareabusinessassociation.com.

Through the app, visitors can hold their smartphones up to large photos of current Daughters of Wisdom to listen to one-to two-minute recordings of the nuns talking about their lives.
