The Connecticut Pops Concert Band, in residence at Naugatuck Valley Community College, has open seats for the following sections: percussion, trombone, baritone horn, clarinet, French horn, bassoon, and oboe.
The band is made up of local amateur players, music teachers, retired professionals, NVCC music students, all under the direction of Allan Dabkowski. Interested musicians should be of intermediate to advanced playing ability and able to commit to a regular rehearsal schedule from 7:15-9:30 on Tuesday evenings- August 27 to December 8, 2019- with one concert performance on December 8. The band rehearses on the Mainstage of Naugatuck Valley Community College.
There is parking and handicapped accessibility. The audition process is informal. Prospective members are invited to the first three rehearsals of the season to play with the group and check out the “the fit.” Interested players are asked to attend rehearsal on either Aug. 27 or Sept. 3.
