Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT Boost Bowls!

Three questions with Tatiana Mehmeti, owner of Boost Bowls.

Why did you start your business?

After living in California and having smoothie and juice bars in every corner we missed that and couldn’t believe there was nowhere to get anything really fresh! So here we are!

Best selling product/service?

Definitely our delicious BUILD YOUR OWN BOWL. You can choose acai, pitaya, avocado or banana as your base and we have so many topping choices. We also offer seasonal bowls! Our “Brinch” bowl has been an absolute success! We blend banana, spinach, peppermint & dark chocolate chips as a base it tastes just like mint chocolate chip ice cream!

How many people do you employ?

At the moment between both our locations we have 15 employees, some work at both locations (Bethel & Southbury) and bounce back and forth! Any youth or seniors from the community? Most of our employees are youth from the community! We have young students that started as Juniors having their first job with us and are now in college! Many come back in the summer or during the holidays just to work.

Boost Bowls tags Victoria Wood Fired Pizza. We love Victoria’s Pizza next door to our location in Bethel! The pizza is just to die for!

Boost Bowls is located at 16 PT Barnum Square in Bethel and inside the Riverview Cinemas in Southbury. Learn more about Boost Bowls here.
