CT DOT announces milling and resurfacing project on Route 172 in Southbury

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 172 in Southbury.

The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 4.05-mile segment of Route 172 from Sacred Heart Church to Route 67. The milling portion of the project is scheduled to occur from Monday, July 12, 2021, through Wednesday July 14, 2021. The resurfacing portion of the project is scheduled to occur from Monday, July 19, 2021, through Friday, July 30, 2021.

This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2021 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

Motorists can expect delays and one lane alternating traffic. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. (Monday through Friday).

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to remain alert, drive cautiously, and to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
