Arts Escape in Southbury: Let's Talk About Solutions, Not Problems

We have problems galore so, for a change, why don’t we consider solutions?  These lecture/discussions will shift the focus onto what can be done in this time of negativity to change the ethos of despair that is overwhelming American society today.  After all, democracy is “us,” so let’s get busy!

Arts Escape in Southbury offers a series for adults who are looking to engage in lively conversations about newsworthy issues. Politics, pop culture, and foreign affairs are all up for discussion in a friendly and open-minded environment. Each participant should be opened-minded and willing to learn and listen and will come away with myriad perspectives to consider as well as a better understanding of the world we live in.

Each week information on the topic will be sent to participants through email for the upcoming topic.

July 12:  The Supreme Court and our justice system

July 19:  Gun control is about much more than just guns

July 26:   Politics: enough already!  Where are our leaders?

Dr. Alfred Hunt, who will moderate the discussion, is a retired Professor from SUNY Purchase. He has given lectures throughout New England for over 20 years. He is an author, has twice been a Fulbright scholar, and was a host of an award-winning cable TV Show
