Southbury Strategic Planning Task Force SECOND Presentation Workshop on January 25

The Southbury Strategic Planning Task Force (“SPTF”) will hold its second public presentation workshop on Thursday, January 25, 2018, at 7:00 PM at Town Hall, Room 205. The Southbury Town Charter states that the “First Selectman is responsible for preparing and annually updating a strategic plan for the Town, such plan is subject to the approval of the Board of Selectmen.”

On April 20, 2017, the Board of Selectmen approved the formation of the task force to begin the strategic planning process inclusive of a comprehensive survey of town residents and stakeholders establishing priorities for proper town governance and responsible town growth. This plan will be supplemental to Southbury’s Plan of Conservation and Development of 2012 (POCD).

The intent of this strategic planning process is to further clarify and monitor the goals and objectives of our local elected and appointed leaders in a changing economic environment.

Our committee remains committed to hearing from the community. A Request for Proposal (Request for Quote) has been sent out by the Office of the First Selectman and is posted on the procurement and bidding page of the Southbury website www.southbury-ct.org/bids. We seek an experienced vendor to assist the SPTF with a Community Assessment Survey designed to obtain input from Southbury residents and businesses regarding the future of Southbury over the next 3 to 5 years.

All staff, elected and appointed officials, residents and business owners are invited to attend this second presentation workshop to obtain an update on the task force’s progress and next steps; public comments are most welcome but will be limited to five (5) minutes; written comments may additionally be submitted to stratplaninfo@southbury-ct.gov.

Information regarding minutes and progress of this committee may be found at www.southbury-ct.org/SPTF.

ALL INPUT for the Strategic Planning Task Force may be emailed to Stratplaninfo@southbury-ct.gov.
