FARMINGTON, CONN., December 29, 2014 – The American Red Cross is in need of volunteers to assist with local disaster response, support blood drives, help provide service to members of the military, present community disaster education programs, hold leadership roles and more.
“We have volunteer opportunities for every age and ability,” said Stephanie Boles, Senior Director of Volunteer Engagement for the Connecticut Chapter.
For people interested in volunteer opportunities, Boles said the Red Cross will offer monthly orientation meetings as an opportunity to learn more and begin the registration process. “We have two ways to get started as a volunteer,” Boles said. “If you want to complete the process right away, you can visit our website and register, participate in an online orientation, share your interests and skills and get started. If you want to attend an orientation to learn more in person, begin your application online and register for one of our monthly orientation sessions.”
Bethel: Second Thursday of every month: 4:00 p.m. at the Red Cross office in Bethel, at 7 Parklawn Drive.
