State Trooper injured while on duty in Rocky Hill receives homemade quilt

Connecticut State Police proudly displayed a large homemade quilt on their Facebook Page. Troopers are grateful to an organization called Quilts for Cops for making the quilt shown here for one of their own, Trooper Chen.

Police say that on April 1, 2020, Trooper Chen was struck by a motor vehicle while working on I-91 S/B in Rocky Hill.

Oregan-based Quilts for Cops is staffed with dedicated volunteers who make quilts for first responders injured in the line of duty. "They hope quilts help provide comfort to them as they recover," Connecticut State Police say.

Thankfully, police say that Chen is back to full duty after recovering from his injuries.
