Patriot Bank, N.A. is proud to have helped support the #IRLCONN - or In Real Life Conference - at the University of Connecticut in Stamford.
This one-day business conference hosted over 200 students, entrepreneurs and professionals in the financial, self-development and technology fields, helping them connect with one another to learn, share advice and network. The conference offered workshops, panels and talks by leaders in the industries.
#IRLCONN partnered with the Connecticut based non-profit Distinction Foundation, which is focused on the global education and empowerment of minority organizations.
Judith Corprew, Executive Vice President – Chief Compliance & Risk Officer at Patriot Bank said, “Patriot Bank is so excited and encouraged to be a part of such a great event, which brought together students and top working professionals with the goal of creating new opportunities for mentoring and leadership.”
Patriot Bank has long been a strong advocate of strengthening financial literacy education. Its bankers regularly conduct sessions at local schools and community organizations throughout the year to help guide and inform students and their families on making prudent decisions that will lead to better economic and financial security.
#IRLCONN Founder, Kelly T. Pierre Louis said “Patriot Bank's contribution to the 2018 In Real Life Conference (#IRLCONN) is an example of its firm commitment to financially supporting initiatives that provide enriching experiences and valuable resources to the local community. We are grateful for their continued support in helping us create spaces and events that educate, empower and connect students, entrepreneurs and business professionals to the ’the real world.’”
Among the many program speakers, Loraine Bellamy said, “Even though I spoke early in the day, I stayed for the entire event because the other speakers were so phenomenal I wanted to learn from them. I was almost late to my own workshop I was so engrossed in the panel that was happening, lol. IRLCONN was just that good!”
A youth participant in the conference Tay Richardson said, “I had such an amazing and fulfilling day at the #IRLCONN. These speakers, panels, and workshops were so authentic and provided so many amazing opportunities to reflect and connect with students, professionals and entrepreneurs… This was honestly, one of the best conferences I’ve ever been to and can’t wait to come back next year!”
