A Bike Safety Roundup was held last Saturday at Chelsea Piers, offering families an opportunity to get their children’s bikes and helmets checked for safety. Those that did not have a helmet were offered one for free, courtesy of Stamford EMS and Cross Insurance – Stamford, Inc.
“They’re on their bikes all the time and you don’t really think about checking them,” said Suzanne Head, a Stamford mom. “We need more stuff like this; it will help keep the kids safe,” said Lisette Ukperaj of Stamford.
The event was presented by Stamford EMS and Safety4Kids (S4K) as part of their year-long Safety Step-Up initiative to raise the community’s safety awareness.
Stamford EMS would like to thank its generous partners: Chelsea Piers Connecticut, Pacific Cycling & Triathlon, Cross Insurance – Stamford, Inc., Stamford's Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), Stamford’s Street Smart Initiative, Stamford Police and Trader Joe’s
