Creativity Connects Stamford
What fuels a vibrant, connected, and creative community? What makes people feel good about living in Stamford?
When locals share the creativity that they uncover in the nooks and crannies of their community it brings about connectivity and makes us all feel good. Believe it or not, you discover creativity every day as you walk, shop, work, and play in Stamford.
Creativity connects us.
Meet Peggy M. McNamara, local resident and Director of Technology at Stamford's Villa Maria School.
Is there a person or organization using creativity to promote change in Stamford?
Bartlett Arboretum & Gardens is an organization that uses creativity to provoke change in Stamford. Visitors young and old can learn about the habitats of the natural world. They offer events for children and families that promote nature. Their children's programs include: A Sensory Guide to Plants, and Grow it, Eat it, a class designed for children 4-7. Kids can experience how their senses help to interpret the world as a way to understand how animals live in the wild. You can check out the awesome educational programs here.
How does creativity connect you to Stamford?
When I think of how creativity connects me to Stamford, I think of the creative ways our teachers connected with our Villa Maria students during distance learning. Our teachers found creative ways to engage students using Google Meet and Zoom, teaching all of our curriculum subject areas.
Finish this sentence: When I think of creativity in Stamford I think of…
When I think of creativity in town I think of the Stamford Museum & Nature Center. Villa Maria School has scheduled student field trips there in the past and we hope to have students visit again this year; perhaps we can plan a virtual field trip to Stamford Museum & Nature Center. The SM&NC is an important cultural and educational resource for the community!
