Services & Schools
Services
- Many residents have contacted the City about delays in leaf pickup. Leaf pickup was delayed earlier this month but has now continued.
- Leaf pickup was delayed due to the snowstorm earlier this month and staffing challenges.
- The City crews and trucks that perform leaf pickup are the same crews and trucks that do snow removal. Whenever there is a snowstorm, these crews must transition truck equipment from leaf pickup to snow removal (for example, installing plows). Since these are the same crews and trucks, leaf pickup cannot be performed during snow removal.
- Additionally, the City had difficulty hiring truck drivers for this season's leaf pickup and snow removal. Staffing problems added to the delays caused by the snowstorm. Leaf pickup has continued as of this week.
- Click here for a map that shows what neighborhoods have had their leaves picked up and what neighborhoods remain.
- The Recycling and Sanitation Transfer Station and Scale House will be close on January 1.
- They will reopen on Saturday, January 2.
