Spectrum Donates $5,000 to Children’s Learning Centers of Fairfield County

Stamford, CT (January 9, 2025) — Spectrum has announced a donation of $5,000 to the Children’s Learning Centers of Fairfield County (CLC) through its national philanthropic program, Spectrum Employee Community Grants.

Of the total donation, $2,500 from Spectrum Employee Community Grants will support CLC’s Nutrition Program, while an additional $2,500 contributed by Spectrum’s Government Affairs Department will benefit the organization’s Technology Program.

“Spectrum, through the support of its Employee Community Grants Program, exemplifies the best example of service to others,” said Joel Weiss, Chief Development Officer of CLC. “Their support for CLC’s children, their families, and our teachers displays both kindness and courage as we work together to help our children grow into extraordinary adults. We are grateful for the special partnership we have with Spectrum and look forward to continuing our work together for many years to come.”

A check presentation ceremony will be held on Friday, January 10, at 1:30 p.m. at the Children’s Learning Centers of Fairfield County, located at 64 Palmers Hill Road, Stamford, CT. Attendees will include Stamford Mayor Caroline Simmons; Bridget Fox, Chief of Staff to Mayor Simmons; State Representative Corey Paris; Joel Weiss, Chief Development Officer of CLC; Rahman Khan, Group Vice President of Community Impact at Charter Communications; and Jennifer Young, Director of State Government Affairs for Charter Communications.

"This is a commendable initiative between Spectrum and the Children’s Learning Centers of Fairfield County,” said State Representative Corey Paris. “The support is a testament to the impactful work being done to strengthen our community and support our children's growth and development."

“Through Spectrum Employee Community Grants, we’re proud to provide support to vital community organizations with which our local employees are already volunteering their time and talent,” said Rahman Khan, Group Vice President of Community Impact for Charter Communications. “Together, we’re building stronger communities where our customers and employees live and work across America.”

Since its launch in July 2019, the Spectrum Employee Community Grants program has provided funding to more than 573 local nonprofits across 35 states within the company’s service areas.

Recipients deliver critical social services, helping underserved residents meet basic needs, including food, shelter, clothing, job training, and neighborhood safety. Each organization is nominated by one of Spectrum’s more than 101,000 U.S. employees who has volunteered with the nonprofit for at least one year.
