Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

Meet Brett Ehrlich owner of CycleBar Stamford

Why did you start your business (or purchase this franchise?)

Staying active has always been a big part of my life so when I left the corporate world after 20+ years in sports sponsorship, marketing and advertising, I knew I wanted to be in the wellness industry. Indoor cycling has been a passion of mine for the last 5+ years and I was drawn to the energy, community and inclusivity of the CycleBar brand. My wife and I saw a lack of dedicated indoor cycling options in the area so we opened CycleBar Stamford in September of 2022 and we are thrilled to open CycleBar Darien in the Corbin District in the fall of 2025.

What is your best-selling product/service?

We have various membership and class pack options but our most popular is definitely our monthly unlimited ride membership! Once people start coming to CycleBar Stamford they get hooked quickly and want to come as often as possible. With 30+ classes a week and 43 bikes per class, there are plenty of opportunities for people to ride with our amazing instructor team.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

We support local businesses in several ways. We carry products from local businesses like WeekendGlowCandles & Therapist Preferred. We partner with various local businesses like Iron Health Physical Therapy, Serendipity Labs, the Vital Stretch and DIG to do pop-up events at our studio to introduce our community to other local businesses. In addition, we are very active in hosting charity rides and donating class packs to charity auctions throughout the Stamford community.

CycleBar Stamford is located on High Ridge Road just off Exit 35 on the Merritt Parkway, across the street from Trader Joe's and next door to Massage Envy.
